As a 28 year old, her paintwork has definitely seen better days, but I bought her knowing she’d need some TLC. Sure, I could get away with patching up, but I’ve opted for a full windows-out respray in original Polar Silver. The way I see it, it’ll be money well spent and will add to the value.
Whilst mechanically everything appears sound, she’s suffered corrosion in all of the common areas; Front fenders towards the front bumper and at the top where they meet the windscreen. Corrosion on the scuttle area and wheel arches where stones have chipped away at the paint over the years and wet has got in.
The spoiler at the top of the rear windscreen has certainly seen better days too. Looks like something from an 90s fisher price toy. Clearly someone’s had a go with a can of spray paint and subsequently some touch up sticks. It’s atrocious!!
I couldn’t let this be… so I started tinkering. As usual the spoiler was off within five minutes.
I’ve only ever tinkered with more modern 911’s, but I can see the step back in technology on this pig, it feels every bit a mid-90’s car.
